Director Vignesh Shivan's film Love Insurance Kompany, starring Pradeep Ranganathan, has opened to mixed reviews from critics. However, the film has still been having a reasonable opening at the India and global box office. According to the box office tracker Sacnilk, it has so far minted 22.38 crore from theatres worldwide.

In India alone, the Love Insurance Kompany box office collection stands at 17.08 crore gross, the tracker reported. So far, the film has performed better than the other Tamil releases from the past week: TN 2026, starring Natty and the Selvaraghavan-starrer Manithan Deivamagalam.

According to Sacnilk, TN 2026's worldwide gross stands at 46 lakh over the first three days, whereas Manithan Deivamagalam has grossed 11 lakh in the same period. On the other hand, Legend Saravanan's Leader has grossed more than 5 crore at the global box office, reported the tracker.

Coming back to LIK, the film also stars Krithi Shetty, SJ Suryah, Gouri Kishan, Yogi Babu, and Seeman, among others. The film tells the story of a youngster (Pradeep) trying to prove that an application cannot take the place of the human connection in love and romance. In our LIK review, Akshay Kumar wrote, "The film reeks of artificiality and half-heartedness when the narrative decides to show something beyond the application. On the one side, you have your flying cars, and in the next shot, you see ordinary four-wheeled cars on the roads. Nor are there any suggestions that Chennai in 2040 is an Orwellian dystopia in which one part of the city is privileged and the other impoverished. Simply put, the writing team may have decided to limit its futuristic innovations to the app, which is also basic."
