Actor Karunakaran, known for his comedic presence and supporting roles in films, recently spoke highly of his friend and co-actor Vishnu Vishal during the pre-release event of Aaryan. Revealing that he considered leaving the film industry at one point after witnessing back-to-back failures, Karunakaran recalled how Vishnu Vishal's timely words of advice made him stay and restart his career.
Thanking audiences for their support to their previous film Oho Enthan Baby, Karunakaran praised Vishnu Vishal's performance in the upcoming film. "I have acted in Karthik Subbaraj and Nalan Kumarasamy-directed films. I know how hard it is to be a director, but a producer's role is the toughest among them all," he said, encouraging people in the industry to become producers to back talented artists and films.
Looking back at the highs and lows of his career, the actor said, "My first film was Kalakalappu. Then came, Pizza, Soodhu Kavvum, Jigarthanda, Indru Netru Naalai and more. All of them were hits and I thought this is how cinema would be. Only later, I witnessed the lows in my career. Vishnu has seen all of it. In fact, at many moments in my career, I had contemplated about quitting the industry."
Karunakaran recalled how Vishnu Vishal's advice and encouragement to continue his career came at a pivotal moment in his life. "He told me that this is how cinema career would be, noting how I have to see it all. Vishnu also patted my back, telling me that I was a good artist. He also made me act in few films that he backed which includes the upcoming Gatta Kusthi 2 and another film which helped me restart my engine," he added.
The duo, who share long-standing friendship, have acted in films like Indru Netru Naalai (2015) and Ratsasan (2018).
Directed by Praveen K, Aaryan promises to be a gripping thriller where Vishnu Vishal dons the cop role again to nab a serial killer like his role in Ratsasan. But this time, there's a twist: The killer likes to challenge the cops. He discloses the name of the victim he is set to kill, exactly one hour before the crime is to take place. The cops realise that this is just the beginning of his killing spree and spring into action.
Vishnu Vishal is joined by actors Shraddha Srinath, Maanasa Choudhary, and Selvaraghavan in prominent roles in Aaryan. The film's technical crew comprises Harish Kannan as cinematographer, Ghibran as composer and editor San Lokesh. Apart from Tamil, the film is set to release in Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi. Produced by Vishnu Vishal's Vishnu Vishal Studioz, Aaryan is penned by the actor's FIR collaborator Manu Anand and is slated for release in theatres on October 31.
