Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s debut film Arjun Reddy was a sensational hit, with Vijay Deverakonda playing the lead role. Since then, Sandeep and Vijay have shared a special bond. Sandeep Reddy Vanga and his brother Pranay Reddy are producing Romanchakam, which is hitting the screens on September 3. They invited Vijay Deverakonda as the chief guest for the pre-release event, which was held on Sunday.
On this occasion, Vijay spoke about Sandeep and their relationship. “I miss him every day and always remember the time we spent together. Building a film, sharing stories, life, stress and battles, we spent many days together discussing so many things. At that time (Arjun Reddy), we didn’t have money. Pranay Anna sold his agricultural land and then invested the money in Arjun Reddy. They believed in me, and we are here today because of that film’s success,” said Vijay Deverakonda, recalling those days with Sandeep.
Vijay said he cannot put his love for Sandeep into words. “Our relationship is not just that of a director and hero, brothers or friends. It is something beyond all of that,” said Vijay. “During Arjun Reddy, we made an attempt that felt like a war. If the film had not worked, we couldn’t even imagine what would have happened. We had no money, no name and no influence. Pelli Choopulu had not even been released, so we didn’t have an audience or fans backing us. We simply took a courageous step,” said the actor.
He said that if there was no Arjun Reddy, he would have missed not just its success but also so many experiences and beautiful moments he shared with Sandeep. “We spoke about life on so many occasions,” said Vijay. He recalled how they had no money and Sandeep’s brother Pranay made a big decision. “When we had no money, Sandeep’s brother Pranay and his father even sold their land and invested their family’s earnings in a film because they believed in me and Sandeep. I will go to any extent for Sandeep, and Sandeep will do the same for me,” said Vijay about his bond with Sandeep.
The actor also got emotional while talking about Sandeep. “When Sandeep called me, if I did not come to this function, then what am I living for?” said Vijay.
He also spoke highly about young actor Sumanth Prabhas. “I could see a dream for cinema in his eyes, and I immediately felt that one day Sumanth Prabhas would become either an actor or a director. I decided that whenever possible, we should do whatever we can to support him,” said Vijay.
“I did my part in promoting Mem Famous. Even today, when the Bhadrakali logo appears, we hear the Arjun Reddy sound. Whenever Sandeep Anna and Pranay Anna make a film, I believe it will definitely be successful,” said the actor, wishing Romanchakam a huge success. “I hope this film gives a big break to Sandeep, Pranay and the entire new team,” said Vijay.
“What matters is how much we enjoyed making the film. If success doesn’t come today, it will come tomorrow. If we believe in ourselves and have the hunger to succeed, success will definitely come,” said Vijay at the event.
