Pradeep Ranganathan’s Dude continues to dominate the Tamil box office with remarkable consistency. The film, which opened to strong numbers, has now collected an estimated Rs 40.75 crore in India after four days, according to early estimates from Sacnilk.com.
After its Rs 10.6 crore Sunday, Dude maintained steady momentum on Monday by adding another Rs 10 crore to its tally, an impressive feat considering weekday drops are typically steeper. The near-flat trend indicates sustained audience interest across urban and tier-2 markets. The Tamil version alone contributed significantly, while the Telugu version continues to hold steady despite competition from new regional releases.
Occupancy-wise, Dude registered a solid 56.98 per cent across Tamil Nadu, with Chennai leading at 74.5 per cent, followed by Trichy (80.75 per cent) and Coimbatore (67 per cent). Afternoon and evening shows were especially strong, reflecting strong word of mouth and repeat audiences.
While Mari Selvaraj’s Bison Kaalamaadan is showing a sharp upward trajectory in its daily earnings, Dudecontinues to enjoy dominance in sheer volume. With Rs 40 crore in four days versus Bison’s Rs 16.25 crore, the film remains the commercial frontrunner of the Deepavali weekend.
Our CE review of the film read, "Dude has a wacky infectious energy and uses it to make hard-hitting commentary on social themes but fails to leave a lasting impact."
Directed by debutant Keerthiswaran, Dude stars Pradeep Ranganathan alongside Mamitha Baiju, Sarath Kumar, Hridhu Haroon, Rohini, and Aishwarya Sharma. Produced by Naveen Yerneni and Y Ravi Shankar under Mythri Movie Makers, the film features music by Sai Abhyankkar in his Tamil cinema debut. Given the festive momentum and high occupancy in key centres, Dude is expected to breach the Rs 50 crore mark within the week.
