Mamitha Baiju's sophomore Tamil outing, Dude, is currently running in theatres. Starring Pradeep Ranganathan in the lead, the film marks the directorial debut of Keerthiswaran. In a recent interview promoting Dude, Mamitha spoke about her experience working with Vijay in Jana Nayagan.

She said, "When I had given an interview for Premalu, Vijay sir announced his retirement from cinema. Back then, they asked me how I felt about not getting a chance to act with Vijay sir. I said in that interview that there was still hope for Vijay's last film. Eventually, I also ended up getting the role in Jana Nayagan. I can't believe I got the chance; I have no words to describe my gratitude. It is truly an achievement for me to share the screen with someone like Vijay sir."

Also starring R Sarathkumar, Rohini, Hridhu Haroon, and Neha Shetty, Dude's technical crew comprises cinematography by Niketh Bommi, editing by Barath Vikraman, and music by Sai Abhyankkar.

Jana Nayagan, Vijay's last film before his full-time stint in politics, is helmed by H Vinoth. The film also stars Gautham Vasudev Menon, Prakash Raj, Narain, Priyamani, Reba Monica John, Monisha Blessy, Baba Bhaskar, Teejay Arunasalam, Nizhalgal Ravi, Revathi, Srinath, Irfan Zaini, and Arun Kumar Rajan, among others.

On the technical front, Jana Nayagan boasts camera work by Sathyan Sooryan, editing by Pradeep E Ragav and music composed by Anirudh Ravichander. The film is all set to hit theatres on January 9, 2026, ahead of Pongal.

Meanwhile, Mamitha Baiju also has Suriya 46, helmed by Venky Atluri; Bethlehem Kudumba Unit, D54, with Dhanush; and Irandu Vaanam, with Vishnu Vishal, in various stages of production.
