The team behind Sigma, the directorial debut of Jason Sanjay, actor Vijay’s son, has announced that the film is nearing completion, with 95% of its shoot already wrapped up. The makers have also confirmed that the film will be an action-adventure comedy featuring Sundeep Kishan in the lead role.

Lyca Productions, which is bankrolling the project, shared an update on social media, revealing that the film was shot across Chennai, Salem, Thalakona, and Thailand. Blending live locations with elaborate sets, the production has completed an impressive 65-day schedule covering almost the entire film.

Speaking about the experience, Jason Sanjay said, as per a press note, “Sigma celebrates the spirit of a lone wolf—a ‘sigma’ who chooses his own path, unbound by societal expectations. The story blends treasure-hunt thrills, heist sequences, and comedy into a high-energy cinematic experience. Thaman’s powerful score, Sundeep Kishan’s dynamic performance, and Lyca’s grand production values have brought immense life to this vision. With only one song left to shoot, we’re gearing up for post-production and an early summer release.”

Lyca Productions CEO Tamil Kumaran praised the young filmmaker’s discipline and creative clarity. “Jason Sanjay has delivered exactly what he promised,” he said. “His ability to translate his writing onto the screen with meticulous planning makes him a complete director. Wrapping up 95% of the shoot in 65 days with such a large cast is a remarkable achievement for a debutant. We’re proud to launch him as a director and foresee a long, successful journey ahead.”

Sigma is described as the story of a fearless, independent man who defies conventions while chasing ambitious dreams. Combining the excitement of a treasure hunt with the tension of a high-stakes heist, the film promises an entertaining mix of action, adventure, and humour.

The ensemble cast includes Faria Abdullah, Raju Sundaram, Anbu Thasan, Yog Japee, Sampath Raj, Kiran Konda, and Magalakshmi Sudharsanan, along with several cameo appearances.

The film’s core technical crew features music composer Thaman, cinematographer Krishnan Vasant, editor Praveen KL, and art director Benjamin M, who together aim to deliver a vibrant, visually rich experience.
