Krithi Shetty, who is gearing up for the release of Vaa Vaathiyaar, headlined by Karthi, spoke about her knowledge of the late actor and former Chief Minister, MG Ramachandran. The upcoming Nalan Kumarasamy directorial features Karthi as a die-hard MGR fan.
Krithi Shetty starts by talking about MGR's personality. "I've only ever heard positive things about MGR sir. He was such a big personality that, ideally, you would expect many different versions of who he was. But everything I’ve heard highlights how charitable he was, and that really impressed me," she explained.
The actor also feels that this film will help the young generation rediscover MGR. She said, "Our generation, especially Gen Z kids, knows very little about his aura and the kind of person he was. That’s why this film feels important. It can show younger audiences who he really was and hopefully influence them in a good way. For MGR fans, the film will be a celebration. For those who don’t know much about him, it will serve as a reintroduction."
Vaa Vaathiyaar also features Anandaraj, GM Sundar, and Shilpa Manjunath in pivotal roles. Produced by KE Gnanavel Raja of the Studio Green banner, Vaa Vaathiyaar's technical crew comprises cinematographer George C Williams, editor Vetre Krishnan, music composer Santhosh Narayanan, and art director DRK Kiran.
As per the film's trailer, Karthi is a devout fan of the late actor and Chief Minister MG Ramachandran, just like his father, played by Rajkiran, who is also known for celebrating his films in theatres. The son eventually grows up to become a police officer but has his own way of dealing with matters of crime that gets him into trouble. The film is slated for a release in theatres on December 12.
