A week ahead of Vaa Vaathiyaar's release, the makers of the Karthi-starrer have released the trailer of the film. Directed by Nalan Kumarasamy, the trailer straightaway establishes that Karthi is a devout fan of late actor and Chief Minister MG Ramachandran just like his father, played by Rajkiran who is also known for celebrating his films in theatres. The son eventually grows up to become a police officer, but has his own way of dealing with matters of crime that gets him into trouble.
Ramesh Thilak and Karunakaran return in Nalan's direction after his hit 2013 film Soodhu Kavvum. Krithi Shetty plays the female lead in her debut Tamil film as Karthi's love interest but seems to be his figment of imagination, akin to Soodhu Kavvum. Sathyaraj, along with a few politicians are in discussions to conspire a major issue that causes public outrage. Sure! Here’s a refined version that keeps your original wording intact: While not many details can be deduced from the trailer, Vaa Vaathiyaar promises to be an unconventional dark comedy and a truly wacky entertainer.
The film also features Anandaraj, GM Sundar, and Shilpa Manjunath, in pivotal roles.
Produced by KE Gnanavel Raja of the Studio Green banner, Vaa Vaathiyaar's technical crew comprises cinematographer George C Williams, editor Vetre Krishnan, music composer Santhosh Narayanan, and art director DRK Kiran.
The film is slated for a release in theatres on December 12.
