It is well known that actor Sivakarthikeyan is working with director Rajkumar Periyasamy for his upcoming film Amaran. The makers have now announced that the shoot for the film has been wrapped up.

The film is being bankrolled by Kamal Haasan's Raaj Kamal Films International along with Sony Pictures International Productions.

Reports state that Amaran is based on the late Indian Army officer, Major Mukund Varadarajan, who was a commissioned officer in the Indian Army's Rajput Regiment. He was posthumously awarded the Ashok Chakra for his actions during a counterterrorism operation while on deputation to the 44th Rashtriya Rifles battalion in Jammu and Kashmir.

Sai Pallavi is playing the female lead in Amaran. With music composed by GV Prakash, the film has cinematography by CH Sai, editing by R Kalaivanan, and action choreography by Stefan Richter. Netflix recently announced that they have bagged the post-theatrical rights for the film.

Meanwhile, Sivakarthikeyan also has SK23 with director AR Murugadoss in the pipeline. Actor Rukmini Vasanth, known for her roles in Sapta Sagaradaache Ello films, will play the female lead.
