The makers of Vasanth Ravi's Weapon announced, on Monday, that the film will hit theatres in May. Also starring Sathyaraj in a lead role, the film marks the sophomore directorial venture of Guhan Seniappan. 

Billed as the first-ever superhuman saga in Indian cinema, Weapon follows the story of a superhuman played by Sathyaraj, who is chased by a bounty hunter essayed by Vasanth Ravi.

Besides Sathyaraj and Vasanth Ravi, Weapon features an ensemble cast, including Rajiv Menon, Tanya Hope, Rajeev Pillai, Yashika Aannand, Mime Gopi, Kaniha, Gajaraj, Syed Subhan, Baradwaj Rangan, Veluprabhakaran, Maya Krishnan, Shiyas Kareem, Benito Franklin, Raghu Esakki and Others. 

Produced by MS Manzoor of Million Studio, Weapon was filmed in Chennai and surrounding hill stations. The film has cinematography by Prabhu Rhagav, music by Ghibran and editing by Nash.
