On Monday, Lyca Productions announced that actor Vijay's son, Jason Sanjay Vijay is all set to make his directorial debut, which will be backed by the production house.

In an official statement, Jason said, "It's an honour to get the opportunity to direct my first film for a prestigious production house like Lyca Productions. It has been a hub of encouraging talents and has created a stream of new filmmakers. I am glad that they liked my script, and have given me complete creative freedom to materialize it. We are now in talks with the emerging stars of the industry and some happening technicians."

It is known that Jason Sanjay has pursued a degree in filmmaking in the US as well as a screenwriting course in London. He was recently in the news for directing a short film.  Earlier, several reports suggested that Jason was to make his acting debut with the Tamil remake of Uppena, which recently won the National Film Award for Best Telugu Film. However, the reports were never confirmed.

We are happy to announce that Mr. Jason Sanjay Vijay will direct our next project, which has a unique story premise and an engrossing experience."
