Kamal Hassan’s action-packed Vikram (2022) has recorded the highest opening weekend viewership and watch time on Disney+Hotstar. The film has also reportedly boosted the subscription numbers to a new high for the streaming giant.

The Lokesh Kanagaraj directorial opened to glowing reviews and ample amounts of positive social media hype. It marked the return of actor Kamal Hassan to the big screens after a brief stint in politics and television.

Following its release on 3rd June, the film had an extraordinary theatrical run for a month before making its streaming debut on Disney+Hotstar from 8th July onwards. According to reports from Disney+Hotstar, Vikram seems to have translated its success into the streaming world as well. The film was released across India in multiple languages including Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada.
