Director Hari has announced a voluntary 25 per cent pay cut from his salary for Aruvaa to compensate for the losses incurred by the producer due to cornavirus pandemic.

Earlier this year, it was announced that post-Soorarai Pottru, Suriya will be joining hands with Hari for the sixth time for Aruvaa, which would be bankrolled by Gnanavel Raja's Studio Green productions. The film was scheduled to go on floors in April, aiming a Deepavali release. But, the shooting was stalled due to the outbreak of COVID-19.

Salary reduction of the top-billed actors and technicians was recently discussed as one of the methods to compensate the losses incurred by the producers, and actors Vijay Antony and Harish Kalyan announced that they will voluntarily take a 25 per cent reduction in their salary. Following them, filmmaker Hari has also announced the same.

In the official press statement released by him, Hari wrote, "Film industry and the people depending on it can flourish only when the producers are doing well. Keeping in mind the current damages caused by the coronavirus, I have decided to reduce 25% of my salary for Aruvaa."

It was recently revealed that Rashi Khanna will be playing the female lead in Aruvaa. The film will have music by D Imman.
