We had earlier reported that Dhanush will be returning to Bollywood for a new film directed by Aanand L Rai, who introduced him in Hindi, and it will most likely star Sara Ali Khan and Akshay Kumar. A recent announcement from the team has confirmed that the trio will be playing the lead in the film that has been titled Atrangi Re. 

Jointly produced by Bhushan Kumar and Aanand L Rai, the film will have music by AR Rahman. With the story penned by Himanshu Sharma, Atrangi Re, is all set to go on floors on March 1. 

Akshay Kumar is said to be playing a challenging role in the love story, and the actor had expressed excitement about working with Dhanush and Sara. Apart from this project, Akshay has Sooryavanshi, Laxxmi Bomb, the Prithviraj Chauhan biopic, and Bachchan Pandey in the pipeline. 

Dhanush, who was recently seen in Pattas, is currently shooting for Karnan, by Mari Selvaraj. He also has a film with Ratsasan-fame Ram Kumar in the lineup. 

Sara will be seen in the Coolie No. 1 remake, alongside Varun Dhawan, and Imtiaz Ali’s Love Aaj Kal, alongside Kartik Aaryan.
