Dhanush had revealed last year that he will be reuniting with Raanjhanaa director Aanand L Rai for a new Hindi film. As per reports, the project will also star Sara Ali Khan and Akshay Kumar. The film is rumoured to be a love story and will go on floors in the coming months. 

Dhanush had made his Bollywood debut with Raanjhanaa (2013), where he played the role of a Varanasi boy. The actor was recently seen in Enai Noki Paayum Thota and Asuran. 

Sara, who has so far acted in a couple of films, has a number of projects lined up, including the Coolie No. 1 remake and Imtiaz Ali’s untitled next. 

If the reports turn out to be true, this will be Akshay's first time collaborating with Aanand L Rai.

The director’s previous film, Zero, starring Shah Rukh Khan, Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma, was a box-office dud.

Akshay’s upcoming releases include Sooryavanshi, Laxxmi Bomb, and the Prithviraj Chauhan biopic.
