The shoot of Tom Cruise’s much-anticipated film Mission: Impossible 7 has been stopped in Italy due to the coronavirus outbreak in the country.

According to reports, the crew, which was shooting in Venice, had to stop the proceedings due to the increasing number of coronavirus victims in the northern part of Italy. Earlier, the team had plans to shoot the film in the country for three weeks, but now this schedule has been changed.

A spokesperson for Paramount Pictures, which is producing Mission: Impossible 7, was quoted as saying, “Out of an abundance of caution for the safety and well-being of our cast and crew, and efforts of the local Venetian government to halt public gatherings in response to the threat of coronavirus, we are altering the production plan for our three-week shoot in Venice, the scheduled first leg of an extensive production for Mission: Impossible 7.”

Reports claim that about 220 people in Italy have been affected by the virus so far.

Mission: Impossible 7, directed by Christopher McQuarrie, also stars Hayley Atwell, Rebecca Ferguson, and Venessa Kirby in the important roles.
