Veteran actor Julie Andrews, who starred alongside Anne Hathaway in the second film of The Princess Diaries series 16 years ago, has said she wants a third part to happen soon. The 84-year-old actor noted that she is "getting awfully old."

"It's long been talked about but nothing has been on my desk or anything like that. I think I would (do it). I'm getting awfully old and crotchety," she said.

Andrews played Queen Clarisse Renaldi, the ruler of Genovia in The Princess Diaries, with Hathaway playing her granddaughter, Princess Mia Thermopolis.

The first movie followed the Queen as she groomed the princess to rule the land of Genovia. Made on a $26 million budget, it was a surprise hit. In 2004, Andrews and Hathaway reunited for the sequel The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement, about Mia preparing for marriage and finding love.
