Director Ajay Gnanamuthu, who earlier introduced Hindi filmmaker Anurag Kashyap as an actor to Tamil audience, has now roped in Indian cricketer Irfan Pathan for his upcoming film with Vikram.

Tentatively called Chiyaan Vikram 58, the film has Irfan Pathan playing an Interpol officer. The actor recently wrapped up the first schedule of the film and took to Twitter to thank Tamil people for the opportunity.

Irfan has spent some time in Chennai when he was training in MRF Pace Foundation, and he has said that he just knows the 'gist' of Tamil language.

Ajay Gnanamuthu’s last film Imaikka Nodigal, starring Nayanthara and Atharavaa, turned out to be a decent hit at the box office.

On the other hand, Vikram's last release was Kadaram Kondan. The actor is currently awaiting the release of his son Dhruv’s acting debut, Adithya Varma.
