Director VV Vinayak — known for his action entertainers like Aadi, Tagore, Bunny and Khaidi No. 150 — will play the role of a hero for the first time in an upcoming film to be bankrolled by Dil Raju. The news was announced by the producer at Tirumala earlier today.

“I started my career as a producer with the Vinayak-directorial Dil, due to which I came to be known as 'Dil' Raju. Recently, I came across an enticing script and asked Vinayak if he would be interested in playing the lead role. His said yes and so, I'm now introducing Vinayak as a hero with this new film,” said the veteran producer.

The film apparently has an interesting premise and shows Vinayak as a middle-aged man. The principal shooting will commence by the end of July or the second week of August. In the past, Vinayak has made uncredited cameos in the Chiranjeevi-starrers Tagore and Khaidi No.150.
