The shooting of Karthi's upcoming film, Kaithi, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj has been wrapped up. The prison break drama, also starring Ramana, Anjathey-fame Naren, and George Mariyaan in important roles, does not have a heroine. The action thriller, which is said to portray events happening over four hours, has some intense action blocks, choreographed by the stunt master duo, Anbariv.

Bankrolled by Dream Warrior Pictures and Vivekananda Pictures, Kaithi has music by Sam CS and cinematography by Theeran Adhigaaram Ondru-fame Sathyan Sooryan. Shot in and around Chennai and Tirunelveli, the film is set for a July release.

Meanwhile, Karthi has a handful of projects in the pipeline, including films with Remo-director Bakkiyaraj Kannan and Jeethu Joseph. The latter is a family drama that also stars Jyotika and Sathyaraj. It will be Jeethu Joseph’s second Tamil directorial after Papanasam, and is expected to get a release this October.
