Following the recent trend of films carrying the suffix "2", regardless of whether they are sequels or not, the new film by Devrajkumar has been titled Taj Mahal 2.

The title of the film has been inspired by R Chandru's 2008 film, Taj Mahal, starring Pooja Gandhi and Ajay Rao. The production house, Sri Ganganbike Films, made the announcement today along with a title poster.

Apart from helming the film, Devrajkumar will also play the lead in it. The director's last project was Nishabda 2. 

The makers are yet to clarify whether the Taj Mahal 2 is a sequel, or if the title of the old film has been used simply for publicity.
