Ever since rumours of Shah Rukh Khan dropping out of Mahesh Mathai’s upcoming Rakesh Sharma biopic, Saare Jahaan Se Achha, surfaced online, several actors have been in the running for the lead role of the astronaut. After Vicky Kaushal and Rajkummar Rao, Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety-star Kartik Aaryan was speculated to step into SRK’s shoes for the film. However, in a recent statement released by the actor’s spokesperson, Kartik has refuted rumours of being approached for the film.

"We just came across this bit of news that is doing the rounds that Kartik Aaryan has been approached for a space film. However, we'd like to clarify that there is no truth to this news whatsoever,” the spokesperson said.

Saare Jahaan Se Achha was expected to go on floors this month but seems to have hit a casting roadblock. In an earlier interview with us, screenwriter Anjum Rajabali had assured that the film will be made irrespective of who stars in the lead role.

Kartik Aaryan’s upcoming release is Luka Chuppi co-starring Kriti Sanon. The romantic comedy film is directed by Laxman Utekar and is slated for release on March 1.
