Speculation suggests that Uri: The Surgical Strike actor Vicky Kaushal is likely to replace Shah Rukh Khan in the upcoming Rakesh Sharma biopic, Saare Jahaan Se Achha. Directed by Mahesh Mathai, the space-themed film was scheduled to go on floors in February this year but seems to have suffered last-minute setbacks due to the casting confusion.

Earlier, SRK in an interview had confirmed he was doing the film, which is written by screenwriter Anjum Rajabali. However, following the failure of his last release Zero, the actor has reportedly gone into introspection and is considering not doing the film, preferring instead to star in Farhan Akhtar’s upcoming flick, Don 3.

Meanwhile, Vicky Kaushal is reaping critical and commercial praise for his performance in Uri: The Surgical Strike, which has earned nearly Rs 140 crore at the box-office at the end of its 15-day run. The actor’s upcoming film is Takht, directed by Karan Johar. The period drama will also star Ranveer Singh, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Alia Bhatt, Anil Kapoor, and Janhvi Kapoor.
