Filmmaker Vikas Bahl has responded to the Indian Film and Television Director’s Association’s (IFTDA’s) show cause notice regarding the possible termination of his membership. The Super 30 director has been accused of sexually molesting a former employee of Phantom Films — the recently-dissolved production house he co-owned with Anurag Kashyap, Vikramaditya Motwane and Madhu Mantena — in 2015 at a luxury hotel in Goa. 

In its notice, IFTDA had called upon Vikas Bahl to show cause as to why his membership shouldn't be cancelled. In response, the filmmaker has argued that the accusations made against him are false and malicious and have no ‘factual basis’. He has also highlighted that no criminal complaint has been filed against him and no investigative agency has approached him regarding the matter, thus attesting himself as ‘innocent until proven guilty’.

He has also slammed his ex-partners Anurag Kashyap and Vikramaditya Motwane for trying to settling ‘personal scores’ and acting on ‘professional jealously’ by making defamatory statements against him.
