Huma Qureshi has revealed an intense behind-the-scenes moment from the making of Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups, recalling how Kiara Advani’s determination during a rain sequence left her inspired.
Speaking at the film’s Tamil pre-release event in Chennai, Huma said the two actors had to shoot a sequence in heavy rain, with both of them getting drenched. Huma, who was dealing with a severe headache during the shoot, admitted that she repeatedly felt like complaining about the conditions. However, seeing Kiara continue with the scene while around six months pregnant made her rethink her own discomfort.
“I have to say something about Kiara. It is not a spoiler,” Huma said before sharing the anecdote. She recalled that Kiara was pregnant at the time and still remained focused on the scene despite being drenched in rain.
“Every single time I wanted to complain I would look at her,” Huma said. She described Kiara as “standing like a rock” and said watching her work through the demanding conditions was “so inspiring”. Huma then told her co-star that she expected audiences to shower her with love for the film.
The anecdote offers a glimpse into the shooting process of Toxic, which sees Yash headline Geetu Mohandas’ period gangster drama. The gangster action drama released in theatres on on August 26, also features Nayanthara, Rukmini Vasanth, Tara Sutaria, and Huma Qureshi in key roles. The film produced by Venkat K Narayana's KVN Production and Yash's Monster Mind Creations shot simultaneously in Kannada and English, the film will release in Kannada, Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam.
Kiara and Sidharth Malhotra, who married in 2023, welcomed their daughter Saraayah in July 2025.
