Nivin Pauly seems to have had enough of waiting for Benz to wrap up, and the actor has jokingly appealed to the makers to finally bring the long-pending film to completion. The actor, who is fresh off the success of the Bethlehem Kudumba Unit, spoke about his impending projects, of which he desperately awaits completing the Lokesh Cinematic Universe film.
In Bethlehem Kudumba Unit, Girish AD's first collaboration with Nivin, he is paired with Premalu actor Mamitha Baiju. Released on August 21 as an Onam outing, the film has opened to a positive response and stars Nivin as Justin opposite Mamitha's Ashley.
In a recent interview with Rekha Menon, Nivin revealed that his commitment to the Tamil actioner has extended beyond just dates. When he signed the film last year, he had agreed with the producers to maintain his bearded look throughout his portions. However, with the production being pushed repeatedly, the actor has found himself carrying the same look through several other projects.
“I’m sick and tired of calling them about this. Guys, at least after watching this interview, please make a decision and complete the film,” Nivin said, tongue-in-cheek, referring to the 30-35 days of Benz shoot that are still pending for him.
The beard, meanwhile, has travelled with him through a sizeable chunk of his recent filmography. Nivin had hoped to shave it off for Bethlehem Kudumba Unit and his recently launched film with Rukmini Vasanth and Aju Varghese, but the unfinished Benz schedule meant that maintaining continuity took precedence. As a result, the same look has featured in Sarvam Maya, Prathichaya and now Bethlehem Kudumba Unit.
The actor began shooting for Benz in October 2025 after being introduced as Twin Fish Walter, the antagonist facing Raghava Lawrence’s titular character. Directed by Bakkiyaraj Kannan, the film is the fourth addition to the Lokesh Cinematic Universe after Kaithi, Vikram and Leo. Lokesh Kanagaraj is producing the film along with Sudhan Sundaram and Jagadish Palanisamy.
Nivin had completed the first schedule by November 2025, but the film has since taken longer than expected to reach the finish line. Ravi Mohan joined the cast earlier this year, adding another prominent name to the project alongside Raghava Lawrence, Nivin and Samyuktha.
Nivin has also moved on to his next Malayalam project with Rukmini Vasanth and Aju Varghese. The yet-to-be-titled film is directed by Nashid Famy and is reportedly a romantic comedy. It marks Rukmini's Malayalam debut and reunites Nivin with Aju after Sarvam Maya.
