Rohit Shetty, who is gearing up for the release of his forthcoming film Simmba, has said that a filmmaker can't show vague things in a cop film. The director was interacting with media at the trailer launch of Simmba along with film's cast, Ranveer Singh, Sara Ali Khan, Ashutosh Rana, Sonu Sood, and producer Karan Johar on Monday in Mumbai.

Simmba revolves around a corrupt police officer who eventually stands up against rapists. "I think a cop film works when you incorporate socially relevant issues in it. When you see films like Zanjeer or Singham you will see that the makers of that film have shown issues which existed during that time," Rohit said.

Talking about the subject tackled in Simmba, he added, "We have shown quite a relevant problem, which has been faced by the entire country. It's our take on what we can do or what can be done to deal with the issue."

"I think a film which shows a reflection of society onscreen gets appreciated by the audience. You can't show vague things as far as cop films are concerned. For a cop film, you have to deal with a problem which is there in the society," the Golmaal director said.

Sharing his views on Simmba, actor Ashutosh Rana said, "This Rohit Shetty film is a classic film, which will be appreciated by both classes and masses."

Simmba is produced by Karan Johar's Dharma Productions.
