Chandran, whose last release was Rubaai, has signed his next, Daavu, with Rambala of Dhilluku Dhuddu fame. The actor tells CE, "I wouldn't call it a rom-com. It’s a full-length comedy, which has a bit of romance."

While shooting will begin on November 15 in Chennai, Chandran says the team will head to Karaikudi, Puducherry and the Northeast for the subsequent schedules. "We're planning to complete the entire shooting in 35 days," he adds.

The actor firmly believes that comedy is one of the easiest ways to reach out to a larger audience. "At the same time, it's the most difficult genre to do. In Thittam Poattu Thirudura Kootam, I have attempted dark comedy. In my another film, (Venkat Prabhu's Party), which is also a comedy, I am doing something different," he says.

In Daavu, Chandran plays a happy-go-lucky guy. "Though there will be no logic in the film, there's a big suspense that will keep the audience going."

He is quick to clarify that the film has no scenes that encourage stalking. "I'll never encourage all that in my films," he says. Produced by Two Movie Buffs, Daavu also has Munishkanth, Manobala, Urvashi and Livingston in important roles.
