Director Basil Joseph has been associated with an Allu Arjun starrer film for quite some time now. Recently, Basil was asked if he would direct the Pushpa and Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo star next during a conversation with The Hollywood Reporter India, and while he did not confirm the collaboration, he suggested that there were discussions happening on it. The latest buzz on the internet concerns ongoing discussion about a potential film between the director of Minnal Murali and the superstar.

On Saturday, director Arun Anirudhan, who has been associated with the potential project as its writer, dropped an image on his Instagram Stories space that features him with Basil and writer Paulson Skaria, who is also linked to the project.

While Arun did not mention Allu Arjun in his post, he also shared the image of a black Range Rover with the number plate ending with the fancy digits, 666, which is reportedly Allu Arjun's car, and with 'Pushpa's Power Theme' pinned to it. "Iykyk," Arun wrote under the image.

Google-eyed netizens caught the indirect reference in Arun's post, with tracker AB George, in particular, suggesting that the three are in Mumbai for a meeting with the Pushpa star over a project.

Earlier, speculation regarding the film began when reports surfaced saying that the director had met with the actor to discuss a new project. It gained some momentum when Basil attended the superstar's brother Allu Sirish's wedding earlier this year. Subsequently in July, Basil shared a cryptic post on social media featuring an "Icon" cap with music from Allu Arjun's film Arya 2, sparking further speculation about the project. It still remains to be seen whether it will materialise. It is worth noting that Basil's proposed Shaktimaan project with Ranveer Singh was shelved.

Meanwhile, Allu Arjun has two projects at various stages of production: Raaka with director Atlee and a film with Lokesh Kanagaraj.
