Girish AD's Bethlehem Kudumba Unit, starring Nivin Pauly and Mamitha Baiju, has overtaken the collection of Vaazha 2: Biopic of a Billion Bros at the Kerala box office, thus becoming the highest-grossing film in this region. Tracker AB George reported the news, saying BKU has earned more than 130 crore from theatres in Kerala. Remarkably, Vaazha 2 also became the industry hit this year, overtaking the Kerala box office collection of Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra. Reportedly, Vaazha 2 has grossed around 126 crore from theatres in Kerala.

At the global box office, the film has earned around 288 crore, according to data from the tracker Sacnilk. Interestingly, the film's reported overseas box office earning (130.25 crore) comes close to it what it earned from theatres in India.

Bethlehem Kudumba Unit explores age-gap romance, and it follows a youngster (Mamitha) who comes back home from Ireland, only to reminisce about her old lover (Nivin). The film became an instant hit at the box office, winning the audience over with the customary humour from Girish and the performances by Nivin and Mamitha.

Nivin Pauly has already started filming his next project, which marks the 51st film in his career. The team behind the film, tentatively titled NP 51, recently celebrated the blockbuster success of Bethlehem Kudumba Unit on the set. Directed by Nashid Famy, the upcoming film also stars Rukmini Vasanth and Aju Varghese, among others. Recently, a crew member associated with the film died of electrocution, and actors Nivin and Rukmini as well as BKU producer Bhavana Studios condoled his untimely demise.

Looking ahead, Nivin's next release is Yezhu Kadal Yezhu Malai, directed by Ram. Also starring Anjali and Soori, the film is slated for an October 01 release in theatres. Nivin's upcoming films also include Benz, co-starring Raghava Lawrence.
