At a promotional event for Kireedam rerelease in 4K, Jagadish shared a story that had everyone in splits. The actor said that Mohanlal's close friend brought a special charayam (arrack) made of cashew nuts once and planned to have it together at his house. Jagadish added that he warned them of criticism from his "strict mother-in-law," who retired as a headmistress, for drinking the alcoholic beverage. "I told them, 'If you can manage it without her knowing, there won't be any problem.' And they said, 'She won't know.'"

Jagadish added that "Seven arts" Vijayakumar brought the beverage to his house, but the latter broke it in his yard by accident. "He got a little too confident," the actor joked before adding that they had any trace of the drink removed in a matter of seconds.

However, Jagadish's mother-in-law still figured out the presence of spirit in the area. "She was also a chemistry teacher. 'There is a smell of spirit here,' she said. I told her, 'There is no spirit here, and you might have mistakenly felt so.' However, she insisted that she knew what spirit smelled like from her laboratory experience. Even then, she did not think that it was alcohol, so we escaped," Jagadish joked. Then, he added that the incident brought many artists who was there at his residence to tears for "missing out on such a good drink". He joked, "For the first time, I saw my peers crying without glycerine," he said, bringing the house down with his signature sense of humour.

Soon afterwards, Mohanlal got on to the stage and gave it back to Jagadish. He sarcastically joked, "If you have any secret in life that should never be revealed, you should tell it to Jagadish, and he won't let anyone else know about it. He knows many secrets of mine. I was praying thinking that he was about to say something else."

Jagadish plays Sethumadhavan's (Mohanlal) in 1989's Kireedam, directed by Sibi Malayil. Regarded as one of the best films of all time in Malayalam, it is set to release again in 4K soon.
