The makers of Asif Ali and Aparna Balamurali's Mirage, directed by Jeethu Joseph, unveiled the film's trailer on Friday. It is scheduled to hit theatres on September 19.

The trailer opens with Aparna saying, “My thoughts keep circling back to his journey.” A man is then heard asking, “Where was Kiran’s journey taking him? And what was his purpose?” to which Aparna replies, “I’m looking for the same answers, sir.” We next see Aparna lamenting to someone, “I don’t understand why Kiran was lying to me.” The trailer then introduces an online investigative reporter, played by Asif.

Brief glimpses suggest Aparna’s character may be romantically linked to Hakkim Shajahan’s character. It is also revealed that Aparna’s character is in some danger. From there, Aparna and Asif are seen attempting to unravel a potential mystery. The trailer concludes with action-packed shots, including Asif attacking someone. Overall, the film promises to be an edge-of-the-seat mystery thriller with Jeethu's trademark signature.

Mirage is jointly scripted by Jeethu and Srinivas Abrol, based on a story by Aparna R Tarakad. On the technical front, the film reunites Jeethu with his frequent collaborators: cinematographer Satheesh Kurup, editor Vinayak VS and music director Vishnu Shyam. The trio are also part of Jeethu’s upcoming project Valathu Vashathe Kallan, featuring Joju George and Biju Menon.

Mirage is produced by Mukesh R Mehta, Jatin M Sethi and C V Sarathi under the banner of E4 Entertainment.
