Narivetta, headlined by Tovino Thomas, will begin streaming on SonyLIV from July 11, announced the makers. Directed by Ishq-fame Anuraj Manohar, the film is scripted by journalist and Sahitya Akademi Yuva Puraskar winner Abin Joseph. It was released theatrically on May 23 and went on to become a hit with generally positive reviews.

Inspired by the infamous Muthanga incident of 2003, which shook the collective conscience of the state and sent ripples across Kerala, Narivetta tells the story of a rookie getting embroiled in a political conspiracy and the aftermath of it. The film also features Suraj Venjaramoodu, acclaimed Tamil actor-filmmaker Cheran, Arya Salim, Priyamvada Krishnan, and Rini Udayakumar in prominent roles. On the technical front, it has cinematography by Vijay, editing by Shameer Muhammed, and music composed by Jakes Bejoy.

Narivetta is produced by Tippu Shah and Shiyas Hassan under the banner of Indian Film Company. An excerpt from the CE review of the film reads, "Narivetta could have been a bold step in that direction, but the film, unfortunately, merely scratches the surface. It is primarily because of the (deliberate) choice to narrate it from the perspective of a cop, who is a victim of systemic oppression, and not the traditionally marginalised. Sahitya Akademi award winner Abin Joseph's script is more interested in the coming-of-age of its protagonist than digging deeper into the plight of the indigenous community and the injustice meted out to them by the system."
