The Malayalam film industry is overjoyed as Mammootty comes back from a health setback, the specifics of which remain unclear as yet. Many celebrities, including the actor's longtime friend and contemporary Mohanlal, shared celebratory posts as the veteran returns after regaining his health. Time is ripe to remind you of a recent occasion where actor Maniyanpilla Raju reminisced about Mammootty telling him to take it head on as he was facing a health setback. Speaking on TNIE's Express Dialogues programme, Maniyanpilla Raju said that Mammootty visited him when he was recovering from cancer and encouraged him to fight it out. The actor also shared that he told Mammootty the same as the latter faced a health issue. "You are the source of our courage," Maniyanpilla said to Mammootty as he tried to inspire the legendary actor.

Earlier this year, Asianet News published a speculative piece about Mammootty suffering from cancer, a claim that the actor's PR team refuted. However, the speculation persisted within and beyond the film industry, and it reached a fever pitch when Mohanlal visited the Sabarimala Temple, prayed for Mammootty and offered a special pooja for the latter. Mohanlal's act even sparked a controversy as a minor section of the population criticised the actor, a Hindu, praying for Mammootty, who belongs to the Muslim community.

Nevertheless, a healthy-again Mammootty's comeback has put an end to all the speculation. The film industry and fans will not have to wait too long to watch the actor back in action again, with his next film with co-star Vinayakan and first-time director Jithin K Jose set to release theatrically soon.
