Basil Joseph-Jothish Shankar film titled Ponman, first look out

The film, an adaptation of GR Indugopan's novel Nalanchu Cheruppakar, is jointly scripted by Minnal Murali co-writer Justin Mathew and the novelist

Earlier, we reported that actor-director Basil Joseph is headlining Jothish Shankar's directorial debut. The makers have announced the film's title as Ponman and unveiled its first look poster, featuring the lead actor, on Saturday.

Jothish, who made his debut as an art director with Adaminte Makan Abu in 2011, is also recognised as a seasoned production designer. His notable works include Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum, Kumbalangi Nights, Virus, Android Kunjappan Ver 5.25, Pathemari, Nna Thaan Case Kodu and Bramayugam, among others.

The film also stars Aavesham-fame Sajin Gopu, Lijomol Jose, Deepak Parambol, Anand Manmadhan, Rajesh Sharma, Jaya Kurup, Vyshnavi Kalyani, Lakshmy Sanju, Reju Sivadas, Maju Anchal, Shylaja P Ambu, K V Kadampanadan, Thankam Mohan and Midhun Venugopal. It has Sanu John Varughese behind the camera, Nidhin Raj Arol on the editing table, Justin Varghese composing the music, and Jothish doubling as the production designer.

Ponman, aiming for a release later this year, is produced by Ajith Vinayaka Films.
