A new audio rendition of 'Vande Mataram', produced by filmmaker and social worker Mahendra Munot, was unveiled at Lok Bhavan in Bengaluru recently in the presence of Karnataka Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot. The initiative seeks to make the national song more accessible to children, with a version designed to be easy to pronounce and sing.

Speaking at the launch, Governor Gehlot said, "'Vande Mataram' is a matter of pride for Indians.” He also stressed the importance of respecting the national song and nurturing patriotism among younger generations.

Munot described 'Vande Mataram' as more than a phrase, calling it a reflection of India’s spirit and vision. Composed by celebrated Bengali writer Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay, the song has played a significant role in India’s national history.

The new version has been produced by Mahendra Munot and directed by B P Hariharan. Singer Ajay Warrior has lent his voice to the rendition, while music director A T Ravish has composed the music. The arrangement has been tailored to help schoolchildren learn, pronounce and sing the song with ease.

Munot said that respecting 'Vande Mataram', the national anthem Jana Gana Mana, the Tricolour and the Constitution is every citizen’s responsibility. He also spoke about the role of schools in fostering a sense of patriotism among children from an early age.

The initiative comes amid renewed attention to the song’s 150-year legacy. The makers hope the new rendition will encourage younger audiences to connect with the song and its historical significance.
