Director Jogi Prem has lent his voice to a devotional song for the upcoming Kannada film Devi, starring young farmer-turned-actor Chetan Kumar and Bhavya Gowda. The recording took place at Loop Studio, with music director Sridhar V Sambhram overseeing the session.

Titled around the devotion to the mother goddess, the song has lyrics by Patho Prajju, including the lines “Joguluv haadi neenu kaithu kottolu.” Prem’s rendition is said to evoke memories of the popular Jogi song 'Beduvanu Varavannu', bringing a familiar devotional touch to the track.

The collaboration came about after Chetan, a young farmer from Mandya, approached Prem with a request to lend his voice to the film. Prem agreed to the song as a gesture of support for local talent and to extend his wishes to the team behind Devi.

In a special gesture, Chetan, who is also producing and playing the lead in the film, gifted Prem two calves. The gesture added a personal touch to the recording session, bringing together the film’s rural roots and Prem’s association with the project.

Devi is being produced under the banner of CR Productions. Chetan Kumar has written the story and screenplay, apart from playing the lead role and producing the film. Prakash is directing the project, which is currently progressing at a brisk pace.

With filming underway, the team is now preparing to shoot the songs.
