Joining the bandwagon of actors who have wished Vijay on his political win in the Tamil Nadu assembly elections and becoming the chief minister-elect of the state, Kannada star Shivarajkumar congratulated the actor-turned-politician and called it a "well-deserved victory".
"To be silent during scathing attacks and let your work speak, is the biggest victory," he wrote on his X handle, hinting at the criticisms that Vijay got in the aftermath of the Karur stampede that happened in September last year. During the time, he called the incident "heartwrenching". While Shivarajkumar noted that he does not know much about Tamil Nadu politics, but placed hope in Vijay, calling him an "ethical" person. The Jailer star added that he is a welcome addition to politics as he "likes to do good things to people."
Now, in his latest X post, the actor wrote that Vijay has "stood tall like a King" and shared an alternate full form for Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) as 'Try Vijay As King'. "May you fullfil all the promises made to the people of Tamil Nadu, and may there be progress always," he added.
Earlier on Monday, several noted actors including Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan, Suriya, Dhanush, Samantha, Mohanlal and Khushbu Sundar, among others congratulated the actor on his win.
Vijay entered politics with much fanfare when he launched his party in 2024. They contested in the elections without being a part of a coalition. Although TVK emerged as the single largest party, winning 108 seats in the assembly elections, the party fell short of the magic number—the halfway mark in the 234-member house. The party is currently looking for post-poll allies to form the government.
Shivarajkumar, who was last seen in 45, alongside Upendra and Raj B Shetty, has a slew of upcoming films including Rajinikanth's Jailer 2, Ram Charan's Peddi, the biopic Gummadi Narsaiah, Survivor - A Superstar Documentary, Bail and Hemanth M Rao's 666 Operation Dream Theatre. He also has an untitled film with Tourist Family director Abishan Jeevinth. Directed by Gowtham Sivaraman, the duo will be seen as father and son. Besides all these, Shivarajkumar has also signed a new-age entertainer for Sathya Jyothi Films, directed by M Saravanan. He has completed shooting for Dad and also has A for Anand in his kitty.
