Palaar, presented by KVN Productions, was launched recently with a traditional muhurat. The film marks the first production venture of KVN executive producers Harish and Naveen, while also serving as Gilli Nata's debut outing as a hero.
Veteran actor-filmmaker V Ravichandran sounded the first clap for the project, while producer Ramesh Reddy switched on the camera and wished the team success.
Directed by Chandramohan, Palaar is billed as a full-fledged rural comedy entertainer, a space the filmmaker is well known for. The project is being backed by KVN Productions founder K Venkat Narayana, with business head Suprith supporting the debut producers.
The muhurat was followed by a birthday celebration for Gilli Nata, turning the occasion into a double celebration. The actor, who has earned popularity through his comedy and television appearances, was warmly welcomed into his new phase as a lead actor.
For an actor whose career has largely been built on making audiences laugh, Palaar feels like a natural extension rather than a reinvention. The scale may be bigger and the responsibility greater, but the film appears determined to play to his strengths.
