Twenty-five years after Majestic made its mark, a new film carrying the same powerful title is gearing up for release. Majestic 2 is not a sequel in the conventional sense but a fresh story rooted in the present-day pulse of Bengaluru’s iconic Majestic area. The trailer, launched on Wednesday, promises a gritty, ground-level look at a locality that never sleeps.
Produced by H Anandappa under the Amma Enterprises banner, the film introduces Bharat Kumar, son of senior producer Shilpa Srinivas, as the lead. Veteran actress Shruti plays his mother, while senior star Malashree appears in a key role. Samhitha Vinya stars as the female lead.
According to the makers, what sets Majestic 2 apart is its attempt at realism. The film explores the businesses, shadow networks and undercurrents that define the Majestic area even today. Through the story of a young man born and raised in the locality, the director captures the changing face of the neighbourhood, where ambition, survival and rowdyism often collide.
Lead actor Bharat Kumar said the opportunity means everything to him. “I will always be grateful to my producer for introducing me as a hero. Acting in a film with a title like Majestic is a huge responsibility,” he shared. He revealed that though the shoot went smoothly, the journey afterward was filled with challenges. “There will always be people who try to pull you down. We have to stand firm and let our work speak,” he said.
To prepare for his role, Bharat spent nearly ten days exploring the Majestic surroundings. “I walked around early in the morning and late at night, sometimes even with a hidden camera. You see every kind of life there. It helped me understand the world of the film,” he added. Calling Samhitha Vinya a hardworking co-star, he also described working alongside Shruti and Malashree as a privilege.
Producer Anandappa spoke candidly about his journey. “I did not know much about cinema before entering the industry. I contested MLA elections four times and lost. But these two films have given me experience worth a lifetime. Becoming a producer was my dream,” he said, praising the hero’s dedication.
Samhitha Vinya noted that the film carries a strong emotional line at its core. “It has seen many ups and downs. Acting with senior artistes like Shruti and Malashree was special. I am eagerly waiting for audiences to watch it,” she said.
With five songs composed by Vinu Manasu, cinematography by Venus Murthy and stunts by Chinnayya, Majestic 2 blends action, emotion and realism. If the trailer is any indication, this March release aims to present Majestic not just as a place, but as a living, breathing character on screen.
