After building a career that has taken him from Kannada cinema to some of the biggest films across the South, Shivarajkumar is now set to add Bollywood to his list. The actor will make his Hindi debut with a new film directed by R Chandru, the filmmaker behind Kabzaa.

The project, to be made under Anand Pandit Motion Pictures and RC Studios, is being planned as a large-scale multilingual production. The film will be shot simultaneously in Kannada and Hindi and is expected to be released in multiple languages.

The title and motion poster are set to be unveiled at a grand event in Mumbai on August 28. For Chandru, who has been developing several ideas since Kabzaa (2023), the decision also points to the scale he has in mind for his return to direction.

Chandru has spent the last couple of years working on multiple subjects, carefully developing his next directorial venture. His film with Shivarajkumar is now advancing as a big-canvas project that brings together talent from different film industries. The filmmaker is also looking to cast prominent names from across industries, with producer Anand Pandit providing strong backing to the ambitious venture.

For Shivarajkumar, the move comes at an interesting point in his career. The actor has steadily expanded his presence beyond Kannada cinema, with appearances and projects in Tamil and other South Indian industries. A Hindi debut, however, takes that expansion a step further.

His current line-up includes Jailer 2 with Rajinikanth in Tamil, and the Telugu film, Gummadi Narsaiah. Bail, directed by Pavan Wadeyar, is also gearing up for release. He has DAD: A For Anand with Srini and a key role in Hemanth M Rao’s 666 Operation Dream Theatre among his other commitments.

Now, with Chandru and Anand Pandit joining forces, the Mumbai launch is only the first glimpse of a project designed to bring Kannada cinema and its star power to a much wider audience.
