Composer AR Rahman recently had some world-renowned visitors at his Mumbai studio. A few hours ago, he shared an image with singers Shosei Ohira and Mamehara Issei, who are part of the Japanese pop band JO1. In the caption, the composer wrote, "This picture screams cultural fusion at its finest!" He also teased a collaboration with the JO1 duo, calling it one that "we can all look forward to." The composer also tagged Filmfare in the post.
The Japanese band recently visited India for the first time on a cultural expedition. Fans and well wishers from India thronged the airport to welcome them with posters, garlands, and chants. Videos of the duo's interaction with them have also gone viral on social media.
The Japanese duo is best known for songs such as 'Tiger,' 'Love Seeker,' 'Infinity', and 'Venus,' among others. Fans are looking forward to the worldwide release of 'Handz In My Pocket', the duo's next song, later this week.
Meanwhile, Rahman is set to visit London for The Wonderment Tour next month. He is also collaborating with legendary Hollywood composer Hans Zimmer on Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Yash, and Sai Pallavi, among others.
