According to multiple reports, actor Arjun Das is in advanced negotiations to star as the main antagonist in director Farhan Akhtar's Don 3, opposite Ranveer Singh. As reported earlier, Ranveer is set to portray the titular role of Don after Shah Rukh Khan, who played the iconic character in the first two films from Farhan, opted not to join the project. The producer of the film, Farhan's Excel Entertainment, is yet to confirm Arjun's casting. If the reports are true, the film would mark Arjun's debut in Hindi cinema. Kiara Advani is also part of the project as its female lead.
In 2023, the makers of Don 3 dropped a title announcement teaser, giving a first look at Ranveer's character. However, at the time, not all fans of the franchise were happy with the change in the main cast from Shah Rukh to Ranveer. Earlier this year, Farhan said that he would commence production on the third part in his Don franchise later this year. The actor-filmmaker also has a film titled Jee Le Zaara in the pipeline, but he recently stated that his "focus is on Don 3" only. Jee Le Zaara is set to reunite Farhan with his Don star Priyanka Chopra Jonas, as well as featuring actors Alia Bhatt and Katrina Kaif.
Ranveer Singh's upcoming film is Dhurandhar with writer-director Aditya Dhar. On the other hand, Arjun Das' upcoming films also include They Call Him OG, opposite Pawan Kalyan, Once More alongside Aditi Shankar, and Prabhu Solomon's Kumki 2.
