Wong Kar-Wai's Blossoms Shangai to release in India

Hong Kong filmmaker Wong Kar-Wai's first television series will be released in India, reports Deadline. Blossoms Shanghai was first released in China and will release in India through Mubi.

Set in 1990s Hong Kong, Blossoms Shanghai follows the rise of Ah Bao, a man from the slums who becomes a millionaire in the high rises of the city.

Blossoms Shanghai stars Hu Ge, Tang Yan, Ma Yili, and Xin Zhilei.

Wong Kar-Wai is known for directing films like In the Mood for Love, Fallen Angels, Chunking Express, and 2046.

“Wong Kar Wai was the inspiration behind starting MUBI. His work has always represented everything we aspire to champion: bold vision, emotional depth, and a singular sense of beauty. To bring Blossoms Shanghai—his first series—to MUBI is profoundly meaningful," said Efe Cakarel, Founder & CEO, MUBI.

The date of release of Blossoms Shanghai is yet to be revealed.
