Vikrant Massey, who has plenty of films in the pipeline including Dostana 2, had shocked film-goers with his retirement post on social media in late 2024. Although the actor did eventually sign many films, the post still remained a subject of befuddlement for his fans. In a recent interview, the actor decided to come clean on the said social media post.
Speaking to Times Now, the 12th Fail actor said, "Whatever limited number of words you are allowed on X, I try to pack in all the information in that space. Now we know that all the information didn’t reach people.” Elaborating on how people misunderstood his post, Vikrant added, “A lot of it was misconstrued.I just wanted to take a break. I was facing a severe burnout at that time.”
On a relate subject, the actor also spoke about how excessive workload took a toll on his life. “We spend so much of emotion, it is not the number of hours you are putting - 12 hours of 14 to 16 hours. It is tough as is, but as artists, as actors, we are spending ourselves, mentally, emotionally. So, it makes you tired," he said.
In his post dated December 2, 2024, the actor had penned, “The last few years and beyond have been phenomenal. As I move forward, I realise it’s time to calibrate and go back home.”
Vikrant, who had only one released in 2025 with Aankhon Ki Gustakhiyan, will soon be seen in Vishal Bhardwaj’s O’ Romeo that will arrive in theatres on February 13. His upcoming films include Musafir Cafe, where he will be seen sharing screen with Vedika Pinto and Mahima Makwana.
