In their recently-released teaser, the makers of Shahid Kapoor-Triptii Dimri starrer O' Romeo stated that the film is based on true events. Reportedly, Shahid’s character is inspired from Hussain Ustara, a rumoured rival of Dawood Ibrahim. In a major turn of events, Hussain’s daughter Sanober Sheikh has reportedly issued a notice to the O' Romeo makers.
According to some reports, Sanober has taken objection to the portrayal of her father, deeming it ‘unfavourable.’ Additionally, she has also sought compensation of Rs 2 crore for the same and an immediate halt on the film's release.
Featuring Shahid and Triptii in the lead, O' Romeo reportedly borrows its central promise from the stories linked to Hussain and Sapna Didi. The makers of O' Romeo are yet to officially respond or issue a statement on the same.
Directed by Vishal Bharadwaj, O' Romeo also features Avinash Tiwary, Vikrant Massey, Nana Patekar, Tamannaah Bhatia, Farida Jalal, and Disha Patani in the primary cast. Sajid Nadiadwala of Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment is producing the film.
The film, slated for a theatrical release on February 13, also marks fourth collaboration between Shahid and Vishal after Kaminey, Haider, and Rangoon. Vishal’s previous feature film directorial, Khufiya, released nearly 2.5 years ago.
