Actor Niktin Dheer opened up recently about his bad experience of working in Hrithik Roshan’s Jodhaa Akbar (2008). He spoke about the difficulties he faced while shooting the Ashutosh Gowariker film.

Speaking to Siddharth Kannan in an interview, Niktin said, “As an artist, I didn’t have fun working on the film. It was a very bad experience for me, to the point that I told my father that I had entered the wrong line, and that I would rethink my life.”

He reflected on how he worked on his physique and Urdu diction to play the character, but later his efforts would go vain. He said, “I shot for more than 100 days. For example, I specially flew back from Istanbul to dub for the film. I must have made 90 phone calls to figure out what the plan is, but nobody from the production answered my calls. The third day, I was supposed to return to Istanbul, and that’s when I am told that they have got somebody else to dub my part. It made me very angry. And there are so many incidents like this.”

Jodhaa Akbar also starred Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Sonu Sood and Suhasini Mulay in pivotal roles. It was produced by Ashutosh Gowariker, Sunita Gowariker, Ronnie Screwvala and featured music by maestro AR Rahman.

The film marked the Hindi film debut of Nikitin and he later went to star in films like Ready (2011), Dabangg 2 (2012), Chennai Express (2013) and Housefull 3 (2016). He was last seen in Rohit Shetty’s web-series Indian Police Force.
