Fans of the 2011 comedy Bridesmaids may soon see several of its stars share the stage again. According to a report by Variety, a reunion featuring key members of the film’s cast is being planned for the upcoming 98th Academy Awards.

Actors Kristen Wiig, Maya Rudolph, Melissa McCarthy, and Rose Byrne are reportedly expected to participate if final arrangements are confirmed. The reunion is intended to celebrate the film’s 15th anniversary, bringing together some of the comedy’s most memorable performers during the Oscars ceremony.

The awards show, hosted this year by Conan O'Brien, will take place on March 15 at the Dolby Theatre. The ceremony will be broadcast live on ABC and will also stream on Hulu.

Directed by Paul Feig, the film was written by Wiig along with Annie Mumolo. Upon its release in 2011, Bridesmaids quickly became one of the standout studio comedies of the decade, gaining both commercial success and critical praise.

In Bridesmaids, Annie (Kristen Wiig), a single woman with a chaotic personal life, is forced to act as the maid of honour when she finds out that Lillian (Maya Rudolph), her lifelong best friend, is getting engaged. Annie navigates the peculiar and costly customs related to her role as the bride's go-to gal despite being lonely and nearly broke. She bravely guides Lillian and the other bridesmaids down the perilous path to the wedding because she is determined to make everything perfect.

The film earned multiple Oscar nominations, including Best Supporting Actress for McCarthy and Best Original Screenplay for Wiig and Mumolo. At the box office, the comedy performed exceptionally well, collecting approximately $289.6 million globally against a production budget of about $32.5 million. In the United States alone, it grossed around $169.2 million.
