With Anbe Diana's release slated on July 17, actor Ramya Ranganathan shared her experience playing an Anglo-Indian in the film. During the pre-release event of the film, she shared that her role was challenging. "The role allowed me to explore acting in different emotions and learn the Anglo-Indian slang. Anbe Diana introduced me to the new side of the city, although I was born and brought up in Chennai. The film introduced me to Permabur."
Speaking highly of her co-star and director, Pari Elavazaghan, she said, "After making a Jama, I never expected him to follow it up with Anbe Diana. He is an amazing writer and director. I am hearing a lot of positive feedback about our promotions."
She went on to thank Dhanush for giving her identity through Nilavuku En Mel Ennadi Kobam (NEEK). "Thanks to Dhanush sir for recognising my talent and giving me an opportunity in NEEK."
In addition to Pari and Ramya, the film also stars Parithabangal Gopi, Roja Selvamani, and Chetan in prominent roles. Yuvaraj Ganesan of Million Dollar Studios, in association with Sathya Karikalan of Neo Castle Creations, is producing the film.
