Ahead of the release of Anbe Diana on July 17, the film's lead and director, Pari Elavazhagan, shared how he comes up with story ideas. In a pre-release event of the film, he said that he is inspired by everyday lives. "It is through observing people and their everyday lives. Both Jama and Anbe Diana were inspired by real-life moments."

He also thanked the audience for receiving Jama well on the OTT platform, and shared that many people that he spoke with regretted not watching it in theatres.

Saying he has attempted to capture the life of Perambur in Anbe Diana, he said, "I hope Anbe Diana becomes a film that the people of Perambur will always be proud of."

While speaking to CE when the project was in its initial stage, Pari had said Anbe Diana would be a commercial film, but not without logic. "I grew up watching films of Bhagyaraj sir and V Sekar sir. They are high on entertainment value, but those are also replete with logic and a lot of takeaways. Superficially speaking, they made comedy films. But they also captured milieus and everyday realities. I have made Anbe Diana be in that league. When I say 'commercial entertainer,' it is not an escape for a film devoid of logic."

Anbe Diana, starring Ramya Ranganathan in the lead, also features 'Parithabangal' Gopi, Roja Selvamani, and Chetan in prominent roles. The upcoming film is produced by Yuvaraj Ganesan of Million Dollar Studios in association with Sathya Karikalan of Neo Castle Creations.
